||Seen here are two IBM system 360 mastheads. The larger one came off of a Model 65 and its background is IBM tan.
The smaller one was saved by a west coast gold scrapper, who thought it funny that the biggest system he ever scrapped had the smallest masthead. Unlike the production mastheads this one is black print on a gray background, not the standard IBM Tan found on the Model 20's, THe NASA Mod 70 was scrapped and was put to the ovens by a GSA contractor during the great mainframe Holocaust, The control console attached to the side of the CPU was reported to have been sold to some movie people, and the Masthead was saved by the scrapyard owner, until he gifted it to me several years back. I think in any case chain of custody has be documented. It gets a bit foggy here as to which shipment it was, there were several 2075's smelted under GSA contract.
The only thing making this one identifiable is the Gray paint.
