1950's IBM 704 Computer Tube Assembly
1 Sold July 2005 for ~ $330.00
||I believe this a logic module from the IBM Model 704 computer. The IBM 704 is said to be the dominant vacuum tube computer of the late 1950's. About 4000 of these modules were apparently used in one computer.
This particular module section is in very good "vintage" condition. It has the patina of age typical of old electronics. All 8 tubes are by IBM. I count about 150 resistors, diodes and other small parts attached to the circuits below the tubes.
This module is a wonderful conversation piece. It is free standing, but for safety I would suggest the winning bidder mount it on a base or in a display case. This vintage IBM tube module would help demonstrate the progress of technology over the last 50 years in any computer collection
Sold in July 2005 for about $330.00
